I began my journey as a songwriter around the campfires of our hunting lease in Pipe Creek. The foreman would invite fellow musicians regularly to enjoy the great outdoors with us. At night we'd sit around the campfires and trade songs. I played covers of The Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, and Poco. They played their original songs. Their inspiration launched my 35 years of carving a niche into original music.
I'd say that I fall into a blend of Americana, Folk Rock and Blues. When you hear it you'll know it's like nothing you've ever heard before.

Joanna Howerton grew up in a musical family in the beautiful hills of Kentucky. She studied classical piano with the late Dorothy Knost. Early influences were traditional church hymns, old-time mountain music, bluegrass from her fiddle-playing father and her mother’s collection of jazz recordings.
Michael Cross, a talented vocalist, lyricist, composer and seasoned recording artist, has built a successful music career on a lifelong passion for music. In recognition of his contributions, The City of Austin named June 21, 2007, “Michael Cross Day”.
